Estoc dark souls

This is probably a dumb question, but have any of the patch notes ever addressed the whole OP estoc issue? Haven't played in a few months and I'm curious if From ever did anything about this. I think all they did was slow down the spam a tiny bit. Still OP. You'd be surprised how much that actually nerfed the weapon.

The winged spear has better damage and range. Estoc, on the other hand, sacrifices outright damage for speed, 2 types of attack and better crits. I like both equally, and would be happy to drop one now so I can focus on the other. Estoc seems to be a bit op, all the benefits of the rapier + mad range and more damage. It doesn't even consume more stamina, and the strong attack is a cool sweep. The only way to boost it's damage is with refinement. Chaos does, which is also Fire damage, but you need both Int and Fth for the weapon to scale well. The Washing Pole leaves much to be desired (C/C at +10) as Chaos, but the Estoc (+10) gets B/B, so it's not terrible.
