I've tried changing system wide settings on both the TV and PS5 with no luck. Fix (at least for me using Chromecast): Start the multilingual (Japanese & English) version of 'The Dangers in my Heart'. Pause and go to the top right and turn on subtitles. HiDive thankfully got a MUCH NEEDED UPDATE to its user interface (I believe that is the term) recently which has helped a lot imo but not perfect & still lacking somethings.
