No reason to get a BM-59 vs. M1A unless you are into collecting one. There are some great choices for M1A's / M14's and though more involved than an AR, you can build your own tackdriver. The M14/M1A clip is located in the thinnest part of a wooden handguard which tends to crack. The BM59 designers apparently figured a way to move the clip to a thicker location. That being said, I have a regular JRA M14 and I wouldn't trade it for one of the welded ones. I think the real M14 heal is cool for a collector, but as a shooter I like the solid, one piece forging of my receiver. I have no data on the welded M14 receivers, so they may prove to be just as reliable as mine.
