I think the biggest gap for the Kineticist is action economy. They have a lot of 3 actions abilities and a lot of 2 action AoEs. Kineticist really wants to use all three of its actions, e.g. 2 action overflow + channel. Therefore, I don't see the archetypes really filling that 3rd action gap that a lot of other classes have.
