It is likely not the real prophet Nephi that the psychic was communicating with, but rather, a spirit pretending to be Nephi. It's impossible to tell or know for sure as it relies solely on human devices, and is why it's generally not a good idea. That being said, I don't know of anyone who has conversed with Nephi.
